Beecher CUSD 200U board approves routine items, posts proposed FY26 budget for public notice

The Beecher CUSD 200U Board of Education met July 9, 2025, and completed a slate of routine business including approval of the June 11 meeting minutes, July expenses, and multiple policy second readings.
The board carried multiple motions after roll-call votes. The meeting record shows trustees approved the minutes and expense report, accepted second readings of board policy updates and the student handbook changes, and acknowledged the resignations of two staff members. The board also approved a citywide janitorial agreement for Beecher Elementary and voted to post the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget for public notice. The superintendent scheduled a budget review meeting for July 31 at 10:00 a.m. and plans a public budget hearing before final approval in September.
"Leaving the total balance in all funds as of the end of fiscal year at $12,741,334.34," the finance presenter reported during the treasurer's report. That report—which included June receipts of $6,577,666.62 and June expenses of $1,118,318.51—was presented before the motions to approve the charges report and related items were carried.
The board approved a Beecher Elementary janitorial contract at $7,046 per month for FY26, and the board moved to post the proposed FY26 budget for public notice no later than 08/07/2025; a budget hearing and formal approval are scheduled later in the year. The meeting adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
