Commission approves Whitaker Construction contract for Teton Pass Trail early work package

On May 11 the Teton County Board of Commissioners approved a construction manager-at-risk (CMAR) contract and Amendment #1 for Whitaker Construction to perform early work on the Teton Pass Trail project. Heather Overholser, Director of Public Works, presented the contract and described the early work scope (clearing, grubbing, tree removal and erosion control). The GMP early work package is for $794,798.88.
The board recorded the funding structure for the early work: roughly 80% of the amount is reimbursable by the BUILD grant, while the remaining 20% is a local share included in the proposed FY2027 Fund 37 budget. A motion to approve the contract was made by Commissioner Luther Propst, seconded by Commissioner Wes Gardner, and carried unanimously.
