Katie Roland, vice president of the Sunnyvale Education Foundation, told the board the Foundation will distribute more than $100,000 to district schools this year. Roland said the Foundation is awarding $10,000 to San Miguel to support production of Frozen, just under $2,000 to Bishop for a drum/percussion assembly, and $4,000 to fund inclusive library initiatives across ten sites to be managed by the district librarian.
Roland invited trustees to Foundation events (a San Miguel PTA picnic and a booth at the State of the City) and recognized outgoing Foundation board members being honored at the State of the City. Trustees thanked the Foundation for the support and for partnering with schools on arts and library programs.
