City staff presented a project workshop on the Santee Community Center (CIP 2018-31). Engineering Director Carl Schmitz and Finance Director Heather Jennings provided a PowerPoint and answered council questions with assistance from Principal Civil Engineer Steve Miller and Planning and Building Director Sandi Sawa. The council considered a resolution to increase the appropriation of funds for the project and to authorize an interfund loan for construction.
On a motion by Vice Mayor Rob McNelis, seconded by Councilmember Laura Koval, the council approved the staff recommendation and adopted Resolution 039-2025 by a 5-0 vote. The action also included a finding that the appropriation/investment, as presented, is not a project subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as recorded in the minutes.
