Hutto approves resolutions to acquire multiple parcels for Brushy Creek wastewater interceptor phase 4

Following closed-door legal and real-estate deliberations, the council returned and approved a series of resolutions authorizing acquisition of several parcels in the triangulated area between Chris Kelly Boulevard, CR-163 and CR-139 as part of the Brushy Creek wastewater interceptor Phase 4 project. Each parcel resolution was considered and approved in sequence, and the city authorized the city manager to negotiate at least one settlement up to the amount discussed in executive session.
Council members voted on each parcel resolution individually; votes on the series recorded as unanimous. Staff said eminent-domain authority is authorized only as a last resort and that the resolutions provide the administrative and legal steps necessary to protect schedule and system continuity for a major wastewater interceptor needed for regional wastewater conveyance.
