District staff reported that a recent quote for greenhouse panel replacement came in at approximately $56,000, substantially higher than the project’s initial $33,000 estimate. Staff attributed the increase to the greenhouse site location and additional roof flashing requirements, and said the project now must go out to bid.
"The cost is higher than the initial $33,000 estimate due to the site location and roof flashing requirements," staff said. Committee members were told bidding will follow and staff will pursue opportunities to control costs during design and procurement.
