Hometown council adopts FY2026–27 budget after $25,000 adjustment

The Hometown City Council approved Resolution No. 4-2026 on April 28, adopting the city’s fiscal year 2026–27 budget effective May 1, 2026 and ending April 30, 2027. Treasurer Salvatore Roti told the council that Clerk Christina Walker found a $5,000 discrepancy that reduced the Clerk’s pay line and that staff had omitted a $30,000 flatbed repair; "Between the two, it is a difference of $25,000," Roti said. The resolution passed on a roll-call vote with nine ayes and one absence.
Earlier in the meeting Roti had previewed the budget vote and later handled a separate clarification to the police department budget in Resolution No. 3-2026; he said that wording fix had "no financial effect." The council did not record supplemental motions to change revenue sources or add new programs in the minutes; the budget passed as presented.
