The advisory board recommended approval of an amended scope and a not-to-exceed grant of $32,025 for DAK Property Holdings at 1520 Broadway (the post office arcade/Banyan Hotel building) to address water intrusion by upsizing gutters and making related exterior repairs.
Mr. Colon explained that when contractors began the previously approved patching and painting work, they discovered inadequate guttering and drainage; the new lowest estimate for the expanded scope is $42,700 and the 75% request equals $32,025. Staff said the Historic Preservation Commission reviewed the limited gutter work and did not require a certificate of appropriateness for the proposed localized interventions. The motion to approve the amended request passed by voice vote with no opposition.
