Chief of Staff Chris Cloud presented two related facilities items on May 8, 2026. First, an amended agreement with Universal Protection Services LLC will reduce 24/7 security coverage at 2911 Meyer Road during non-working hours, generating an estimated first-year savings of $93,000. Commissioners approved the schedule change 3-0.
Second, Cloud presented temporary construction and permanent utility easements required to bring a water line to the planned Allen County Jail’s eastern terminus on property owned by Parish Leasing on South Maplecrest Road. Commissioners approved the easements 3-0, allowing county staff to proceed with utility work tied to the jail project.
Both approvals authorize staff to execute contracts and easement documents and proceed with related scheduling and contractor coordination. County staff will manage implementation and ensure compliance with applicable permitting and coordination requirements.
