Planning staff presented a text amendment to amend the county’s definition of heavy manufacturing to explicitly include general grinding operations.
Staff said the change would add a definition and direct such operations to heavy industrial districts rather than leaving them unspecified in the ordinance. "This is a text amendment, to amend the definition of heavy manufacturing to include general grinding operations," staff said. Staff emphasized the amendment defines the use within the ordinance and does not change any district boundaries or remove uses from other districts. Commissioners did not request additional materials in the workshop and did not vote on the amendment at this meeting.
