He said Tehachapi appears on a list of participating districts and that the initiative represents "roughly, including Tehachapi now, ... around 375,000 students" seeking changes to funding formulas. Bell said the district currently registers about 46% on that specific list and that the group has set a 55% threshold needed to reach funding goals.
Bell also updated the board on operational items: enrollment numbers will "roll over" Friday and Monday and he thanked custodial, maintenance and technology staff for summer work preparing campuses for the school year. He closed by noting the district has one remaining FRISK training module to schedule this year.
