Commission staff asked commissioners to submit nominations for the Historic Preservation Awards and reminded members that student video contest entries are due by the stated deadline.
"I put a nomination form on everybody's seat. We need nominations. I need those within 4 days," the staff member said, asking members to return nomination forms by the 28th or submit them during the meeting. Staff also asked that video entries be turned in by Friday the 28th and said entries would be posted on ShareBase for commissioners to watch individually prior to collective viewing.
Commissioners discussed voting criteria and accuracy concerns for student entries, and several proposed viewing videos individually then watching together off the record to avoid recording deliberations in a formal meeting. Staff offered to play videos at a pre-meeting gathering and to circulate links so commissioners could watch in advance; members agreed to vote on the contest entries before the March 24 meeting.
