A staff presenter told the committee the county proposes changing employee health risk assessments (HRAs): rather than holding a concentrated annual worksite HRA event, the county would use PEBA's annual no-cost blood-screening option and a PEBA vendor that can travel to worksites more frequently, potentially monthly.
Staff said the PEBA screening contains the same tests as the current HRA and is more comprehensive in its blood panel; they noted over 90% of eligible employees currently participate in the HRA requirement and that switching would reduce strain on the wellness center and speed up scheduling and results, based on a November test run.
The proposal would remove the county's worksite event from the current contract and rely on PEBA-supplied screenings; details of implementation and any contract changes would follow committee direction.
