HGTC marker installation on hold as placement and public-works coordination continue

Staff reported four markers are “in line” and two have already arrived and are being stored pending final coordination. A staff member said they are planning installation for March 7 during a county council meeting, but cautioned that the date is not confirmed while they coordinate with public works and the institution that will host the marker.
"So far, it's 6PM on March 7," the staff member said, noting the time is tentative and that installation requires coordination with the county's public-works department. Commission members said the board will be notified when the date is confirmed and that commissioners will be invited to the installation.
Members discussed using anniversaries—such as the first graduating class of a school—to time installations and make placements more meaningful. The commission also confirmed that markers in storage will remain there until the receiving organization and public works agree on a placement and installation schedule.
The meeting record indicates staff will email the full commission with confirmed logistics once public-works scheduling is finalized.
