Fort Myers says Roberto Clemente Park work is ready to begin; staff seeks sites for parks bond spending

Council members asked for more proactive acquisition work for eastern‑side park space and expressed concern that relying on donated parcels — some encumbered with conservation easements — may not meet the city’s needs. Staff said they are actively pursuing opportunities, including a potential donation from Arborwood CDD that would require changing an existing conservation easement; staff is also placing prioritized bond projects into a phased issuance plan.
