Committee clears EV registration fee waiver for active-duty service members stationed outside Tennessee

Chairman White presented Senate Bill 17-38, which would allow active-duty service members stationed outside Tennessee to receive a waiver from the state's electric vehicle registration fee, with exceptions for bases that lie partly in Tennessee. "This bill will allow active duty military service members stationed outside of Tennessee to receive a waiver for electric vehicle registration fee," Chairman White said, and asked the committee for a favorable vote.
Members had no substantive questions and the committee took the matter up for a vote. A roll-call recorded nine ayes and the committee passed the bill out to the calendar where it may be placed on consent; the sponsor said he would appreciate a favorable recommendation.
