Commission recognizes long-serving housing authority director; successor named

Davis County honored Jan Winborg for more than 42 years with the Davis Community Housing Authority and the authority's board elected Kim Michaud as the new managing director; the commission adopted the recognition resolution unanimously.
The commission honored Jan Winborg for more than 42 years of service with the Davis Community Housing Authority on June 16. Grant Jax, chair of the housing authority, read a resolution recounting Winborg's progression from property clerk to executive director and praising her work expanding affordable housing and strengthening the authority's financial independence.
"The board of commissioners of the Davis Community Housing Authority hereby expresses its deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to Jan Winborg for her more than 42 years of exemplary service," Grant Jax read from the resolution. Commissioners and housing authority board members who were present stood to be recognized and the commission moved to approve the resolution and enter it into the official minutes; the motion passed unanimously.
Grant Jax also announced the housing authority's board elected Kim Michaud as the new managing director. Michaud declined extended remarks, saying she was "fine." Commissioners thanked Winborg and the housing authority board for their service and wished Winborg well in retirement.
