Council approves fall festival and parade street closures and approves special‑events ABC license

The council approved permits and street closures for two community events: the Bowl Weev Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 (rain date Oct. 24) with street closures 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and the Enterprise Christmas Parade scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3 (rain date Dec. 10) with parade activity 6 p.m.–9 p.m. Aaron Grantham of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce requested the permits and provided the event routing and times; council moved and approved the permit requests.
Separately, council opened and closed a public hearing on an ABC special-events retail license submitted by Parr and Poor LLC d/b/a the 'Toast to Heroes' reception at 2401 Veil Metcalf Road. Staff stated that ABC application requirements, police approval, zoning, $1,000,000 liability insurance, and security plans had been satisfied. The applicant representative confirmed readiness. Council voted to approve the ABC license for the event, which will serve beer, wine and spirits inside the designated special-event area.
Aaron Grantham described the event requests as recurring annual activities and provided the detailed closure maps and times. "It is my annual plea for street closures for the Bowl Weibo Fall Festival... as well as the Enterprise Christmas parade," Grantham said.
