County approves $1.82 million contract to build new health department technical center

Davis County commissioners on June 16 voted unanimously to approve a $1,819,725 contract with Stout Building Contractors LLC to build a new health department technical center for admissions, administration and training on the county health campus.
Blaine, the county staff presenter, said the project will sit just south of the existing health department and gave the contract term as beginning in 2026 and running into 2027. "This is to build our new health department technical center, for admissions, administration, and training," Blaine said during his presentation and provided the contract amount to the commission.
Commissioners moved and seconded the motion to approve the contract. No commissioner raised substantive questions during the public discussion; the chair called for the vote and the measure passed unanimously.
The contract award was placed on the consent of items presented that morning; project oversight, specific subcontracting plans, and a construction schedule were not discussed in detail at the meeting and were not specified in the presentation.
