Soil & Water Conservation District wins $175,000 grant, reports strong e-waste turnout

Ron Thorn, manager of the Soil & Water Conservation District, updated the committee on recent outreach and project work. He said the most recent e-waste event drew approximately 200 participants and that the next e-waste event is scheduled for June 18–19. Thorn also announced the district had been awarded a $175,000 grant to support a weed-harvesting program.
Thorn reported progress on the Port Bay REDI project, noting the engineering bid packet was received and forwarded to the County Attorney for review. He also reminded the committee about upcoming youth and community events: the Envirothon on April 29 and the district's tree and shrub pickup sale on April 15–17.
