City staff told the council that the restoration project to return the 'steam' feature to Lindstrom's coffee-pot (water-tower) has secured sufficient funding commitments to proceed in 2025. The presenter thanked residents and local organizations that donated and said staff is working to finalize scheduling and resolutions accepting donations.
"But I'm happy to report that we will have steam back in the water tower in 2025," staff told the council. Staff said the donations currently committed will cover initial installation costs and some early operating years, though long-term upkeep will require monitoring and possibly additional contributions or budget actions. The council was told that formal resolutions accepting donations and final cost numbers will be brought forward in early 2025.
Councilmembers praised community momentum behind the project and asked staff to identify any recurring operating costs so the city can plan for maintenance responsibilities once the steam feature is returned to operation.
