Crow’s Nest annexation petition withdrawn; council asks staff to craft annexation policy

“As a reminder, on March 19, the city received a letter of withdrawal from the crow's nest annexation petition,” the moderator read. Staff also reported that on March 24 the City Council accepted the withdrawal via Resolution 26‑23 and directed staff to develop a new annexation policy and public outreach process; the transcript records a target of roughly 120 days to work on that policy development.
Community Development Director Donna Fergus later reiterated that staff are beginning to craft annexation outreach and will keep the commission updated as the work proceeds. The council’s resolution means the specific Crow’s Nest petition will not proceed as presented and policy work will determine future procedures for annexation petitions.
