During an expedited engineer report, Bob Kohlhase updated the board on streetscape design work and its connection to possible grant opportunities. Kohlhase said the streetscape design ties to grant prospects and that the Village should consider coordination and next steps to strengthen grant applications.
Economic development lead Katie Garber said she has started preparations for the ITEP streetscape grant and is coordinating with the Park District on collaborative elements. Kohlhase also provided an MFT (Motor Fuel Tax) program update and described ongoing infrastructure cost research and forms being prepared by Farnsworth for USDA paperwork related to the public safety building.
Trustees did not vote on a grant application or commit local matching funds at the meeting; staff presented updates and signaled further planning work is expected before any formal application or appropriation.
