Commissioners raise economic development funding to $65,000; mill-levy cut proposed

"It was the consensus of the Commission to increase the economic development budget to $65,000.00," the minutes record following a presentation from Scot Loyd of the Loyd Group, who walked commissioners through a "Cost of State Required Services Provided by Counties" summary. Commissioners also discussed results of a wage study and options for the mill levy.
Commissioner Carla Grund specifically proposed an option to reduce the mill levy and urged fellow commissioners to consider delivering that reduction to taxpayers. No final mill-levy resolution was adopted at the meeting; the discussion remained at the budget-review stage.
