Hermosa Beach Museum announces national accreditation, invites commissioners to gala

Greg McNally, president of the Hermosa Beach Museum, updated the commission that the museum had received national accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums after a multi-year process of policy review and site visits. He described the accreditation as a rigorous peer-review process and noted that the Hermosa Beach Museum is among about 1,100 accredited museums nationally.
McNally also thanked staff (Lisa Nichols, Brian Salza, Cambria) for their help in negotiating a lease extension and additional space that will support an interactive education center. He invited commissioners to the museum’s gala on Aug. 22 and described the accreditation as an important step for grant opportunities and fundraising.
