The Village of Bensenville Board adopted a proclamation designating May 18–24, 2025 as National Public Works Week and urged residents to recognize public works professionals for their role in infrastructure and public health.
The deputy clerk read the proclamation, which praised public works staff and encouraged community participation in events sponsored by the American Public Works Association. In the village manager's remarks, the manager said the Public Works Department—about 40 employees—will host an open house on May 22 from 3:30–7:00 p.m. at 717 East Jefferson offering hands-on demonstrations, "snow plow ride alongs, mock water main breaks, sewer televising, duct races, and touch a truck," and that partners will discuss stormwater, mosquito abatement, solar power, and PACE bus offerings. Food will be provided.
President Piazza Ball also reminded residents of the Memorial Day holiday and village closures and encouraged residents to thank public works staff for their service.
