Street Department Foreman Mark Traum told the council the department has been busy addressing storm-related damage and routine park repairs.
Traum said crews hauled in 20 tons of cold patch for Madison Street and repaired playground equipment. He told the council that water running down Madison Street into homes near Silk Street remains a problem and that he plans to install "250 of gutter with a drop box grate on top at Silk and Jackson Street," an improvement he estimated would cost about $3,500 and that the expense is covered in the current budget. Traum also thanked Eric Eberle and the American Legion for donating and installing two new grills at the park.
The council did not take a separate vote on the street repairs at the meeting; Traum noted the work conforms with available budgeted funds but did not provide a start date for the gutter installation.
