Director: Coyote Ridge Park geotech done; bidding expected in April

Marcus Graves, Castle Pines’ Parks, Recreation and Open Space director, told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board the Coyote Ridge Park renovation is progressing on schedule, with geotechnical testing complete and 50% construction drawings finished.

"We did the sit down on that and, flipped through those to make sure we're still on track," Graves said in the update. He said the geotech and earth-testing results will be incorporated into the 75% plan and that the project’s bidding period is expected to close in April, after which staff will recommend a vendor to City Council.

Graves also told the board that the current 50% construction estimate is lower than earlier projections. "From the last from the original 1 to 50% actually went down 100,000," he said. He cautioned that final costs remain uncertain until later design stages and the full bidding process.

Graves said vault‑toilet kits have been stamped and are cleared for procurement and that staff will return with the 100% drawings once they are complete so the board can review the full package. The director noted lessons learned from other city projects: the community-center renovation drew strong vendor interest and staff expects similar interest for the park contract.

The board had no formal questions that changed the update; Chair Ball closed the item after the presentation and discussion.
