Council approves several small contracts, including CDBG-funded roof and HVAC work

The council accepted multiple bids for building repairs and upgrades. Council accepted a $6,280 bid from Future Construction to replace the roof at 1640 Michigan Street; the expense will be paid with CDBG funds. Council also accepted a $24,720 bid from Ace Plumbing and Heating to replace the HVAC system, water heater and upgrade electrical at 1351 Ferry Street, to be paid with CDBG funds.
Additionally, the council approved a $13,694 bid from Airlux Heating and Cooling to replace the HVAC system at 2006 Ontario Road; that expense is to be paid for by area foundations rather than CDBG. Each item was approved by motion and roll call, and the mayor was authorized to sign the corresponding contracts.
Councilmember Jessica Nelson moved to accept the Future Construction bid and Councilmember Michael Thompson seconded motions on multiple repair items during the consent/contract section of the agenda.
