Staff presented a professional-services agreement to engage Woody of Genius of Fun Promotions as the Harmony in the Parks promoter. The contract covers show production, sound, bookings, set-up and tear-down; staff said the promoter secures better band pricing and that Rusty, the outgoing coordinator, will still serve in a fundraising and pre-show role to ease transition.
Council discussed the promoter fee and overall band costs; staff said the promoter fee (not to exceed $10,700) plus anticipated band contracts fit within the event budget and that the Harmony fund has a reserve of about $23,000 to smooth the transition. The council approved the promoter agreement and staff said a Carl Oscar Days contract will be returned for council consideration in February.
