“They actually have pulled their demolition permit. Utility disconnects have been completed,” staff said when summarizing site work. On Park Street, staff said they are finalizing legal paperwork and plan specs so the project can be bid and let as part of the 2025 street program. Regarding the housing concept, staff said the project is contingent on state dollars and that the developer plans a concept review with planning commission in February; the developer has proposed to permanently house the community garden on the site as part of the plan.
Board members discussed timing, liability for garden space and whether the city should require entitlements in advance of state funding; staff advised that starting entitlements early would be at the developer’s risk if their state funding later does not materialize. Staff said they would follow up with the broker name for the commercial listing and keep the board informed as the planning and bid processes advance.
