Rotary previews Taste of Lakeville fundraiser set for Aug. 20

Mike Puppy, chair of the Lakeville Rotary’s Taste of Lakeville, told the council the 24th annual fundraising event will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Lakeville Area Arts Center and will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. "This year, Lakeville Rotary Club will host its 24th annual Taste of Lakeville on Thursday, August 20 at the Lakeville Arts Center," Puppy said, and noted advance tickets are $50 while gate admission is $60.
Puppy said roughly 30 local restaurants, caterers and food trucks will provide samples and that ticket holders will also have wine, beer and spirits tastings and receive a souvenir wine glass. He described the event as the Rotary Club’s primary fundraiser and said proceeds support scholarships, local food shelves and other community programs; the club has donated nearly $450,000 over the last three years. "The Taste of Lakeville is the primary fundraising event for our Lakeville Rotary Club," Puppy said. The council thanked the presenter and encouraged residents to attend and support local nonprofits.
