Holiday Hills plans debris pickup, warns that deployed sand is contaminated

President Giles and Director Dzialo outlined the village's approach to processing flood debris, which includes construction materials, shrubbery, logs and private piers that floated onto properties. Nunda agreed to perform a yard-waste pickup if materials are placed at the roadside; the village is researching options for collecting debris left on private property.

Officials emphasized that sand from deployed sandbags is contaminated and must not be disposed of in sandboxes, on beaches or used for human contact. Sandbag removal will be scheduled once conditions allow and residents are responsible for moving bags to the roadside; collection procedures and dates will be set and announced at a future meeting.
