Twisp council gives preliminary approval to Twisp Family Haven planned development

Mayor Smith convened a closed hearing on the Twisp Family Haven Planned Development during the Feb. 11 council meeting. Planner Vetter provided an overview of the Planned Development process and summarized the Planning Commission’s findings and recommendations for the project.
Council members disclosed ex parte contacts under quasi‑judicial rules; Council Member Wyatt Lundquist recused himself and left the chambers because he is a member of St. Genevive Catholic Church and an adjoining property owner. After reviewing the record, the council instructed an amendment to the project conditions to add pedestrian walkways. The council noted that “No parking spaces, pedestrian walkways, or fire lanes may be used for snow storage.”
Council Member Tim Matsui moved to grant preliminary approval of the Twisp Family Haven Planned Development as presented, with the amended conditions; Council Member Aaron Studen seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. Council directed staff to draft a written ordinance consistent with the council’s direction and return it for formal adoption. The closed hearing opened at 5:40 p.m. and closed at 6:37 p.m.; the record is available upon request at Town Hall.
