Mayor Carl Bates read a report from Davis Community Center Director Nacy Bandemer noting the center "was awarded a $15,000.00 grant from an anonymous fund from the Quad City Community Foundation." The report thanked the community for strong support of the mini food center and said Coffee and Community bookings are filled through March.
Bandemer's report also listed new classes starting in mid-January and February, including "Well balanced class" and "Nutrition as we age." The council received the update as part of routine staff reports; no further council action was recorded on the grant at the Dec. 23 meeting.
The center's grant and programming updates were presented to highlight community services and upcoming offerings.
