Staff told commissioners on Feb. 26 that several near‑term development items are advancing, and outlined next steps for upcoming hearings.
Valerie and other staff said an indoor self‑storage development in Parkway Plaza plans to open on March 15. Staff also reported ongoing work with the Peaks Townhomes applicant to finalize improved elevations and an amenity center consistent with conditions approved at a prior hearing; staff expects to return to the commission with revised materials. Staff noted Richmond has a preliminary plan under review and that a variance will be before the commission at the end of the month.
On broader policy work, staff said the city will retain a consultant to help refine the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) and that the comprehensive plan update will be a more extensive rewrite to reflect new residential areas that were not included in the previous update. Staff encouraged commissioners to attend two public open houses and noted strong turnout at a Canyons open house.
