Crow's Nest annexation found eligible; zoning hearing continued to March 26

Castle Pines planning staff updated commissioners that the Crow's Nest annexation petition was determined eligible by city council and can proceed through the annexation process, but that the applicant has requested additional time on zoning details.
‘‘Last Tuesday, so 2 days ago, city council found the petition for Crow's Nest annexation to be eligible for annexation,’’ staff reported, adding that the zoning and the annexation process are legislative matters under city council purview. Staff said the applicant chose to continue the zoning hearing to March 26 to provide additional information to staff, so the zoning will not be heard at the special meeting scheduled for March 5.
Staff reminded commissioners that if Crow's Nest is annexed, the property will require an initial zoning assignment and that the three‑mile plan will inform those decisions; the planning commission will recommend zoning if the petition moves forward.
