Wastewater staff reported Aug. 3 that construction at the plant is progressing and that the West Side interceptor work is slower than planned due to groundwater intrusion. Staff said rain gauges at the wastewater treatment plant recorded 1.79 inches across the weekend, measured from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, and that the rainfall did not significantly affect plant flow.
The chair thanked staff for the update. Staff emphasized the city did not receive the heavier localized rainfall that other parts of the region experienced and that daily rain monitoring helps manage operations and scheduling for construction work.
