Students showcase 8th-grade Spanish; Kaylan Carley wins Outstanding Language Learner

At the April 15 meeting Mokena School District 159 recognized three students in an 8th-grade Spanish spotlight; Kaylan Carley was named the Outstanding Language Learner for the year.
Dr. Kristin Johnson introduced Andrea Espinosa, who reviewed criteria for the 8th-grade Spanish course and presented three students who demonstrated language skills. Peyton Fitzgerald and Payton Jelley each spoke briefly in Spanish, and Kaylan Carley explained her reasons for taking Spanish.
Espinosa announced that Kaylan Carley was selected as this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Language Learner Award. Trustees and administration thanked the students and teacher for the presentation during the meeting's spotlight segment.
