The board approved a procurement to restore cooling to the district's main server room after a three-zone system failed earlier in the summer.
"So I need a motion to approve this server room air conditioner by Key West for a cost of $10,060," the superintendent said, and the board moved, seconded and voted to approve the purchase. Trustees confirmed the unit comes with one year of parts and labor and that Key West has worked for the district previously. The superintendent emphasized the work would be completed before students return to the building.
Board members asked whether the unit would be installed before classes resume; the superintendent said it would be finished by the next day, underscoring the urgency because the server room supports district-wide systems.
The motion passed on a voice roll call with members recorded as voting in favor.
