PDC grants reporting modification to judicial candidate Jacob Lervold citing safety concerns

The Public Disclosure Commission on July 2 approved a reporting modification request from Jacob Lervold, a candidate for Cowlitz County Superior Court, to exempt his personal residential address from his F-1 report covering the prior 12 months.
Tabitha Townsend presented the request and told the commission the candidate used an alternative address on his F-1 and agreed to recuse himself from any matter creating a personal conflict if elected. Lervold, who answered by phone and placed himself under oath, said he is “a senior criminal deputy prosecuting attorney” and said disclosing his address would create a public-safety concern for him and his family. Chair Jay Robert Leach said Lervold had made a sufficient showing under the applicable statute and administrative regulation and granted the request.
Leach treated the application as the same protective treatment often afforded sitting judges on address disclosure. The commission did not require further testimony and concluded the matter on the calendar.
