Auditor‑Treasurer secures donations and routine county permits, including recount agreement

Auditor‑Treasurer Stephanie Buss presented several routine items included in the meeting packet and asked the board to act. She asked the board to approve memorial donations to the veterans service totaling $3,485; the board moved, seconded and approved the donation acceptance.
Buss also presented a joint powers agreement with the State of Minnesota to cover recount work for future primary and general elections. "They will pay us 4¢ per ballot that we have to recount," she said. The board approved the agreement and authorized the auditor to sign on behalf of the county.
The auditor sought, and the board approved, a gambling permit requested by Stevens County Business Forever for a raffle at the Old Number 1 Bar and Grill on Saturday, Oct. 24. The board also approved a tobacco license for the Morris liquor store tied to a change of location — county staff noted tobacco licenses attach to premises rather than to the business entity.
All four items were approved by voice vote and recorded as routine consent actions in the meeting minutes.
