PDC chair grants redaction request for Judge Rebecca Pinnell over safety concerns

Tabitha Townsend, the PDC staff member presenting the modification petition, told the commission the redaction request covered contributions to multiple campaigns connected to Pinnell or her spouse, Thomas Zielman, and listed donors that staff reported as appearing in records. Chair Jay Robert Leach, who said he had read the filings in full, noted a calendar misspelling of Pinnell’s name and explained he had reviewed the materials before acting. Leach said, “I’m going to grant the request and, to the full extent that it’s requested,” and asked staff to double-check agency records to ensure no contribution had been overlooked.
Townsend identified multiple named contributors in the packet staff reviewed; the chair approved the redaction on safety grounds and directed staff to search agency records for any additional contributions that might need the same treatment. The commission did not record further testimony from Pinnell in the proceedings.
