Parks staff updated the board on the community center renovation, reporting demolition nearly complete and framing in progress. Marcus Graves said contractors uncovered an unexpected red iron beam that required removal and a structural shore‑up and that the electrical service panel required an unplanned upgrade to support new loads.
Graves said the city selected Forte to handle integrated AV and that the renovated center will include wired microphones, cameras and programmable systems for city boards and outside renters. He noted the facility will be available to a wide range of users once complete and said staff are tracking change orders and schedule for a July council update.
