Landscape architects from HCM walked the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board through the phase 1 redevelopment of Coyote Ridge Park, including a nature‑inspired playground, multiple restroom structures and accessibility upgrades. Kyle Davis said the playground will include separate 2–5 and 5–12 play zones, a custom coyote‑themed climbing boulder and a mix of inclusive sensory elements. “We are going to provide accessible routes down to the creek,” Davis said.
Davis described new vault restrooms (a four‑stall near the playground and a smaller two‑stall near pickleball), poured‑in‑place rubber surfacing and a synthetic turf berm. The plan also calls for a new regulation ball field with irrigation and two dugouts, chain‑link fencing adjacent to the creek to reduce balls going into the waterway, upgraded lighting and ADA‑accessible parking stalls connected by concrete trails. Designers said they will reuse two existing play features where feasible and will select materials to balance durability and aesthetics.
