Wyoming County Board approves $4 million interfund loan for county health system

The Wyoming County Board of Supervisors on June 9 approved Resolution No. 26-332 establishing an interfund loan of up to $4,000,000 for the Wyoming County Community Health System. The advance is earmarked for $2.0 million in accounts-payable relief and $2.0 million for a transformation grant to support surgical suites.
According to the resolution, the health system will repay the advance when New York State releases 2026 DPT funding, when FEMA disburses final reconciliation funds, or prior to the end of fiscal year 2026 — whichever comes first. The motion carried unanimously with 172 ayes, 22 absent and 7 abstentions noted in the record. The approval followed presentations by Finance Committee Chair Mr. Kehl about the county’s short-term liquidity need and repayment contingencies.
