The Village of Metamora agreed to provide a $500 donation to the St. Mary’s Golf Outing to support repairs to ballfields used by a wide variety of residents.
President Dawn Deeb raised the question of how to handle donation or sponsorship requests using taxpayer funds. Attorney Brunton advised trustees they may exercise discretion on small donations when a benefit to a broader group of village members can be demonstrated. Trustee Chris Bowers moved to approve the $500 donation for the stated purpose; Trustee Eric Schierer seconded and the motion passed 6–0.
The minutes record the board's rationale as supporting recreational facilities used by many village members; the donation will be paid from village funds as authorized by the trustees.
