Dan provided a series of shorter project updates: Park Street parking plans and a micro‑park gathering spot next to the bakery will be finalized and bid as part of the 2025 street project; the city awarded an artist to paint a mural on the east wall of the off‑sale liquor store; and Moretti's remains without movement.
On zoning, Dan said the council approved cannabis zoning at its last meeting, allowing retail cannabis in B1 and industrial districts and a limited allowance for hemp‑derived THC in the Central Business District, but noted the state has delayed license issuance so businesses cannot yet operate even where zoning is in place.
Members welcomed the mural and local events reporting that downtown was busy over recent weekends and that the city lighting and public works efforts improved presentation.
