EDA highlights 2024 accomplishments, BR&E survey and downtown initiatives

Dan presented a year‑in‑review summarizing EDA accomplishments for 2024 and priorities going into 2025. He said the Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) effort produced over 30 responses, which will inform redevelopment planning for the Central Business District and outreach to local businesses.
Dan also noted progress on several downtown initiatives: work on the Central Business District and trailhead concepts, continued review of city‑owned properties including Lake Lane and Oak Street, support for the Wildcat Woods Disc Golf Course which has drawn regional users, and outreach efforts such as an annual business breakfast and new business awards program.
Members thanked the EDA for the pace of work, noting the group had accomplished in under a year what some cities cover in longer timeframes. Dan said the EDA will continue to refine priorities and prepare work planning sessions in early 2025.
