Potter County signs five-year Axon agreement for body/dash cameras and tasers

Staff described WatchGuard as obsolete after the county's migration to Windows 11 and said Axon alignment with other local agencies favored interoperability.
"WatchGuard wanted $30,000 up front, and it was easier just to do it over the 5 years and make it a little less," staff said in explaining the multi-year structure. The contract includes cartridges for taser training each year and a translation feature staff said will help interactions in other languages. Commissioners approved the agreement 5-0; staff said funds are budgeted and the cost increase over budget would be covered by internal reallocations of supplies and radio service lines.
